Well known GP retires after 32 years in Lisburn

A WELL known doctor has retired after 32 years as a general practitioner in Lisburn Health Centre.

Dr Christine Russell has been a local GP since 1979 and has worked in partnership with Dr John Henry, Dr Ian Williams, Dr Betty McKeown, Dr Dermott Hutchinson and Dr Bob Ryan.

On top of a busy workload, Dr Russell was instrumental in developing services for women’s health and for the diabetic patients of the practice, who benefited from her interest and hands-on approach.

Her patients and colleagues, all of whom hold her in high esteem, will miss her. She now hopes to be able to spend more time with her husband Richard and their family along with her other interests of gardening and golf.
