Three Lisburn women have gone the extra mile to raise money for charity.
Thea Presho, Debbie Reilly and April Reilly ran 3km in the Lisburn Half Marathon to raise money for Breast Cancer Services at the Ulster Hospital.
The trio decided to raise money for the Breast and Endocrine Centre in the Ulster Hospital because Thea has battled breast cancer twice and wanted to show the hospital her appreciation for all they did for her.
Thea also works for the South Eastern Trust in the Lagan Valley Hospital in the Patient Experience Department.
Debbie and April Reilly, Thea’s neighbours who are like family to her were happy to help by putting on their running shoes too.
The three women raised an amazing £1,300 for the service.
Thea commented: “We didn’t expect to raise £300, never mind £1,300!
“Thank you so much to all my friends and family who sponsored and supported us.”
Rosey Whittle, Macmillan Breast Care Nurse Specialist, accepted the cheque on behalf of the Breast and Endocrine Centre.
She was thrilled with the amount raised, which will be used to benefit breast cancer patients experience in the Ulster Hospital.
