The idea of a new Methodist Church in West Lisburn had been raised in the mid eighties when Seymour Street Methodist Church in the centre of Lisburn was outgrowing its building.

The new housing developments in the Knockmore Road area provided the perfect opportunity for a second Methodist Church in Lisburn.

However, it was some years later on April 24, 1999, 21 years ago, that a small group first met to worship in borrowed premises a short distance from the location of Trinity Methodist’s present site at Ballymacoss Avenue.

It was here, on September 10, 1994, the first brick was laid for a new Methodist church in West Lisburn.

The young church continued to attract people who were moving into the area and ten years later the new church had grown so much that a larger building was needed, and in 2014 work started on the second phase of development.

With a base firmly established in the area, Trinity wanted to provide a resource for the people of the local community to use.

As a result the new building was designed and built to include various rooms and spaces for hosting a range of events and organisations, from groups working to support people with learning difficulties, various exercise classes, conferences and courses designed to help with personal money management. Sunday morning worship commences at 10am along with a facilitated crèche and Trinity Zone Sunday School and Y Pod Youth Fellowship meet during the service.

Free tickets for the anniversary concert are available from the church office at Ballymacoss Avenue or by contacting the church on 028 92 605335.
