Train station work to begin

Translink, alongside contractor WYG, will be carrying out essential site investigation work at Derriaghy Train Station.

This work is part of a long-term strategy to maintain high levels of safety and reliability of the rail network, and to explore options for potential future enhancements to Derriaghy Train Station.

To complete these ground investigation works safely, work will be necessary both during the day and at night at different stages. Night works will commence at 11:59pm on Friday January 8, Saturday January 9 and Sunday January 10, working through to 5am the following mornings.

Necessary daytime works will also follow during the period Wednesday January 13 – Friday January 22. There will be no night-time works during this time. Access to the station will be retained at all times and there will be no disruption to train services.

Due to the nature of the works and the essential machinery being used, there will be some increased noise levels in the area; however, we will make every effort to keep noise and disruption to an absolute minimum.

Work will also be carried out according to the relevant social distancing guidance to ensure the protection of staff and the community.

Translink will keep residents and commuters updated as the plans to enhance capacity at Derriaghy Train Station progress.

Translink is grateful for the support and patience of the local community as it progresses this essential work to enhance the railway.
