Police in Lisburn have arrested three females on suspicion of theft from Bow Street Mall.

The arrests took place on Thursday afternoon after the CCTV team spotted one woman walking out of the Mall with a trolley full of alleged stolen goods.

Citywatch posted on their Facebook page: “CityWatch CCTV Operator Radar observed a female leaving the Mall with a trolley filled with Christmas goodies.

“She was then joined by two other females both carrying food processors. The store was contacted and confirmed that the females had not made payment for any of the items.

“As they made their merry way up Market Place they must have thought that all their Christmas’s had come early until they spotted a police patrol who just happened to be dealing with someone else on the naughty list.

“As they done a swift you-turn they then started placing the items into black bags that were also stolen.

“The three females then attempted to make good their escape in a taxi, but we had already had one ordered for them complete with blue flashing Christmas lights.”

PSNI Lisburn posted the details on their Facebook page they said: “We will continue to patrol to keep the residents and visitors to Lisburn & Castlereagh safe, conducting anti-burglary patrols, vehicle check points and beat patrols alongside answering your calls for service.”
