Thompson House clinic honoured at healthcare awards

THE Epilepsy and Psychiatric Clinic at Thompson House Hospital was awarded the Epilepsy Project of the Year at the recent Northern Ireland Healthcare Awards.

The development of the Epilepsy and Psychiatric Clinic brings neurologist, psychiatrist and specialist nurses together, making a much more holistic and seamless service. One of the main benefits of this is that the patient is supported by the Community Learning Disability Team between appointments. The goal of the service, the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland, is to provide a seamless and holistic neurology and psychiatry service for people with a learning disability. Dr Janet MacPherson accepted the award on behalf of the clinic.
