Sweet sensations for Derriaghy women
A VISIT to Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory was the focus for the May meeting of Derriaghy W.I., with president Pat Allen welcoming members and friends to the group’s annual summer outing.
At the factory, ‘Uncle Jim’, in his own humorous style, told the history of the business and gave a demonstration on sweet-making. Everyone enjoyed sampling the end product and also browsing and buying in the shop.
The group then travelled to Granshaw Presbyterian Church where the women of the PWA had prepared supper.
Birthday girl was Nancy Scott and the next get-together will take the form of the annual general meeting on Friday, June 7.
