Lisburn hairdresser and make-up artist Stephanie Burns is celebrating after being crowned ‘Make-Up Specialist of the Year’ at the Professional Beauty Awards 2017.
The annual awards celebrate those who go above and beyond in the beauty, spa, nails and aesthetics markets.
Winners were announced at a black-tie gala dinner, hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, at London’s Tobacco Dock on February 26.
Stephanie, who runs her own salon in Lisburn city centre, won the Make-Up Specialist of the Year award, which was sponsored by Mii Cosmetics.
Reacting to her win, Stephanie said: “I feel totally overwhelmed. I did not expect to win at all but I’m thrilled. Thank you to everyone at Professional Beauty, the judges that voted for me and all the sponsors. I feel very honoured.”
As well as the title and a trophy, Stephanie’s win also means her business, Stephanie Burns Hair and Makeup, will be profiled in Professional Beauty magazine - the leading business title for the beauty, spa and nails industries.
According to the organisers of the awards, a win in one of the prestigious categories “marks a business out as a nationwide leader and provides unrivalled recognition that they are at the pinnacle of their profession.”
Entrants were scored by a panel of independent industry expert judges, with mystery visitors, interviews and business inspections to ensure standards are kept rigorously high.
