Staff held up in armed robbery

Staff were threatened during an armed robbery at a shop in Crumlin, last Tuesday night.

Police in Antrim have appealed for information following the incident at the Main Street convenience store.

Just before 11pm, a man armed with a suspected firearm entered the premises and then made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

The man is thought to be aged in his mid to late 20s and was was wearing a dark coloured hooded top.

Detective Inspector David Skelly of Antrim PSNI said: “I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID at Antrim Police Station on the non emergency number 101.”
