Shot three times and had 15 bullet wounds to his body

James Hamilton, Woodbrook Avenue, Lisburn, admitted obstructing a search for drugs on September 22 last year. He was fined £250 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that police went to an address at Dromore Street, Banbridge, to carry out a search.

When they tried to get in Hamilton held the door shut and another person was heard flushing the toilet.

A solicitor said his client had been shot on three separate occasions and had 15 bullet wounds to his body.

He explained Hamilton suffered from post traumatic stress disorder and was extremely nervous when a knock came to the door.

District Judge Eamonn King said Hamilton had appeared in the Crown Court for drugs offences and sentenced to eight months.
