President Agnes Black welcomed members of Boardmills WI to the October meeting called “Second Time Around” by Myrtle Hull.
Myrtle showed members how to co-ordinate old and new clothes by using them together. She remodelled your favourite coat by shortening it and removing the sleeves to make a gillet, narrowed and shortened trousers to wear with ankle boots.
A simple basic black dress can be given many outings by adding a lacy blouse underneath and using bright accessories to alter its appearance to suit the occasion.
The competition for Vintage jewellery was won by June Kirkpatrick, with Pearl Newell in second and Evelyn Kidd in third place.
The birthday girl was Margaret Robinson.
