Search for Lisburn’sbest kept health andsocial care facilities

LISBURN’S residential homes, daycare centres, medical centres, opticians and dental practices are being called on to enter the SuperValu Best Kept Health and Social Care Facility Awards before the May 25 deadline.

The awards are organised by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC) as part of the Best Kept Awards scheme, sponsored by independent retail group SuperValu. Entries will be judged from June to August and Northern Ireland’s Best Kept Health and Social Care Facilities are to be acknowledged at a ceremony in September.

The award categories are Best Kept Day Care Facility; including Day Centres, Training Centres and Resource Centres, Best Kept Residential Facility; including Hostels, Children’s Homes and Elderly Persons Homes and Best Kept Healthcare Facility; including Health Centres and Clinics. Category winners in each of the five Health and Social Care Trust areas and a sixth band of entries from private facilities receive a personalised sign, a perpetual trophy and a monetary award and the entry with the highest score takes a ‘Best of the Best’ title.

Judges will be looking for the most cared-for premises. Doreen Muskett MBE, Chairman of NIAC explained; “The SuperValu Best Kept Awards recognize the work of local communities and organisations in improving our built and natural environment. In this category of the awards we acknowledge health and social care facilities, in both the public and private sector, that make a real difference to the people who use their services, by providing pleasing premises and grounds.”

Entry forms are available from NIAC on 9040 3681 or visit www.niacbestkept.com for more information.
