The new branch, Screwfix’s seventh store to open in Northern Ireland, will create 13 jobs.

Lisburn store manager Eddie McGookin said: “We’ve created 13 brand new positions which have been filled by people from the local area. Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”

Tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts are invited to attend the opening on Thursday, July 10, when they can also demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The fastest contestant wins a 40in Toshiba flat screen TV.

Throughout the store’s launch celebration period from July 10-13, all product ranges will carry a 10 per cent discount on the customer’s first order from the Lisburn store.

Mr McGookin believes that the store’s convenient location and the ability to provide a “click and collect” service within just five minutes of ordering will be a real bonus to local tradesmen.

“I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradesmen and we’ve been very pleased with how supportive everybody has been.

“At Screwfix we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of today’s busy tradesmen with a speedy, reliable and convenient service.”
