Romantic serenade as newly-weds start their married life

NEWLY-WEDS, Colleen Moran and Patrick Bell were treated to an impromptu love song outside St Patrick’s Church, Lisburn when they recently emerged from celebrating their nuptials.

The cast of Fusion Theatre were rehearsing in the adjoining parish centre for their upcoming show ‘Chess the Musical’, when it became apparent that the bride and groom would soon be leaving the church after becoming man and wife.

Led by the award-winning musical director, Ian Milford, the cast serenaded Colleen and Patrick on the steps of St Patrick’s church with the song ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ from the musical ‘The Lion King’.

Passers-by and shoppers were stopped in their tracks, and were not only treated to the vision of the stylish wedding party leaving the church, but also the beautiful harmonies of the 60-strong cast entertaining the bride and groom.

Ian Milford said: “The cast of Fusion Theatre love any opportunity to perform, so we thought that it would be a lovely idea to surprise the bride and groom by singing such a beautiful song as they left the church. Many of the guests shed a tear at seeing the couple serenaded by the group and Colleen and Patrick were very touched by the gesture.”

Fusion Theatre are performing ‘Chess The Musical’ at Lisburn’s Island Hall from September 7 until September 10. Tickets can be obtained from the Box Office on 9250 9254 or www.tickets.lisburncity.gov.uk
