Lagan Valley Ulster Unionist Candidate Councillor Alexander Redpath has launched his party’s manifesto alongside fellow candidates and party leader Mike Nesbitt MLA.

“I was delighted to attend my party’s manifesto launch where we spelt out our vision for a prosperous Northern Ireland.

“In addition to our national priorities of securing additional economic levers for the Northern Ireland Assembly and securing improved mental health provision I will be fighting for a number of local priorities, said Mr Redpath.

“If elected the MP for Lagan Valley I will do all in my power to fight for the retention of local Health services particularly at the Lagan Valley Hospital.

“I will fight to reverse the temporary reduction in A and E opening hours and if this is not possible I will insist that the Health and Social Care Trust deliver on their promise of a minor injuries unit for the Lagan Valley.

“I was also be a passionate advocate for business in Lagan Valley.

“I will fight against unfair restrictions on Development at Sprucefield and the former Maze Prison site.

“I will also do all that is politically possible to ensure that the Military Covenant is fully implemented in Northern Ireland.”

Speaking at the launch of his party’s manifesto Ulster Unionist leader Mike Nesbitt commented: “One day, One Vote, One Chance for Change.

“That’s the opportunity that presents itself to the people of Northern Ireland on May 7.”
