The 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, Northern Ireland`s only Army Reserve infantry battalion, is holding a recruitment evening next Thursday (February 25) at their Lisburn home at Thipeval Barracks.
This is the ideal opportunity for anyone interested in enlisting with the Regiment to find our more about how to get involved.
A spokesperson for 2 Royal Irish, which moved from Portadown to Lisburn two years ago, said: “We welcome people from all sections of the community and offer exciting, rewarding careers.
“We will help you learn team building, decision making and leadership skills, plus you’ll have plenty of opportunities to earn qualifications that could be used in your civilian career.
“There are always opportunities to take part in adventurous training and play a wide variety of sports.
“On top of all that, Reservists will get paid Army rates of pay to train and be eligible for extra payments of up to £2,300.
“If you feel you have what it takes to become a Ranger and you have the spare time to take up an interesting, challenging and rewarding job, come along to our next recruiting open evening.”
The next recruitment evening will be held in Thiepval Barracks on the Magheraleve Road in Lisburn from 7pm until 10pm.
Anyone interested in attending the event should arrive at Thiepval Barracks at 6.45pm.
