Playschool pupils enjoy farm visit

DRUMBEG: The children and staff of Drumbeg Play School were welcoming in the Spring recently with a visit from the local, family run Blackberry Farm.

With a variety of chicks, bunnies, a chicken, a goose, guinea pigs and even two piglets, the children got the opportunity to independently handle, brush, feed and cuddle the animals. The visit was a delightful and entertaining mix of stories, songs and interaction with the animals and it was certainly a day that staff and children alike thoroughly enjoyed.

It certainly brought a smile to the eager faces of the children who couldn’t wait for the next animal to appear. Not so big a smile however for the parents who were welcomed at pick up time by excited children with requests for the farm animals they now wanted as pets.
