Lisburn mother Amanda Francey is fighting for the title for the Supervalu SuperMums competition.

Amanda, was nominated by sister Jolene for the strength she showed when her son, Noah who unfortunately died in April this year, was diagnosed with Dandy Walker Syndrome, a congenital brain malformation, before birth.

Noah, was never expected to survive the end of the pregnancy but he survived against all the odds for nine months but sadly died earlier this year.

Amanda, who is one of 36 mums will now go on to attend the celebration event at Stormont later this month.

The competition is also sponsored by Magnum, Kellogg’s and Robinsons.

The campaign, which is now in its second year, was launched on Mother’s Day and received over 300 heart-warming nominations.

The grand final will be hosted by TV personality Claire McCollum who will crown the overall SuperValu SuperMum 2015 and the winner will take home a family trip to Disneyland Paris, courtesy of Clubworld Travel, with each finalist receiving a pamper hamper.

Donna Morrison, Marketing Manager of SuperValu, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the volume and standard of entries for this, our second SuperValu SuperMums competition.

“There were so many wonderful mums nominated, who take life’s day-to-day challenges in their stride and the people who nominated them were so proud to champion their efforts.

“I’d like to congratulate Amanda on being chosen as a SuperValu Lisburn’s SuperMum and wish her all the best for the grand final.”
