Lisburn great-grandparents celebrate 60th wedding anniversary
On April 1, Samuel and Isobel Wilson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple met at a dance in the Black Hall on the Hillhall Road in September 1959.
It was ladies choice and Isobel took the initiative, asking Samuel to dance.
They were engaged in March 1960 and married on April 1, 1961 in Glebe Church, Annahil.
Their first house was in Wesley Street, then they moved to Mandeville Avenue in 1969, where they still live.
Samuel worked all his life as an electrician in Harland and Wolff shipyard. Isobel worked part time in a shop and as a cleaner, as well as bringing up three children Shirley, Derek and Jenny. They also have nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
