Ulster Unionist Party should not treat voters like fools

AS I read the letters from Councillor Ronnie Crawford and Ulster Unionist Council Candidate Mr McNickle it is clear to me that desperation and panic has set it in.

This does not surprise me as a resident of Lisburn Town North because the track record of working on bread and butter issues by the Ulster Unionists has not been a good one.

On this point, when Mr McNickle says he is standing because the unionist community deserve better representation I agree with him that the Ulster Unionist Councillors in Lisburn North have failed, but it is difficult to judge whether Mr McNickle would do much better, and when I consider the content of his letter I doubt it.

The letters from Councillor Crawford and Mr McNickle are political cheap shots and as an elector in the forthcoming elections I would appeal to them not to treat the public as fools because we can see through the political spin they are using in attempt to cover up the lamentable failings of the UUP both on Lisburn Council and at Stormont.
