Normal politics breaking out

How refreshing to see our local politicians discussing real economic issues rather than banging a big sectarian drum as so often has been the way.

I am somewhat bemused however about the letter published from Lisburn North Voter who dismissed many of Mr. McNickle’s points out of hand. I have lived in Lisburn North for many years and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McNickle when he called at my door last week.

We had a lengthy discussion about what he plans to do for the voters of the area and it was refreshing to hear a young man so passionate about local politics. However it was also a nice change to have a Unionist politician do more than shove a leaflet in my hand and be ordered to vote for them.

The DUP have marched the Unionist people up the hill once too often, what we need is someone to guide us back down again.
