A welcome act of kindness for patients

AS a recent patient at the Lagan Valley Hospital, I was privileged to witness what I think is one of the most thoughtful acts and I felt that people should know about it.

It was during visiting hours and one or two of the patients had a lot of visitors. However, there were other patients with no one to visit them.

I have been in hospital a lot throughout my life and I have at times been without visitors and I know how lonely it can be.

One of the nurses approached the visitors and asked them if they would like to share some of their time with patients who had no one.

I was really touched by this and I thought it was one of the loveliest things I had ever seen. The visitors spent time with all of the patients and no one was left alone that day.
