Open School Worldwide visit Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School

BALLYCARRICKMADDY: Alan and Margaret McIlhenny from Open School Worldwide have visited Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School to talk to the KS1 children about the ‘Open Schools Worldwide’ project.

The children were given a little insight into what life was like for some children in South Africa when Alan and Margaret brought in a miniature rubbish dump.

The children heard about how some children live on a real dump and how ‘Open Schools Worldwide’ help to provide these children with an education.

The children in Ballycarrickmaddy saw the desks these children use and were able to see how school was different from their own.

The children in Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School will be raising some money to help to bring hope and education to the street children. More information can be found on the school website: www.ballycarrickmaddyprimaryschool.org
