O’Kane’s Pharmacy wins top award

A DRAPERSTOWN pharmacy has picked up a top prize at the Pharmacy in Focus Awards ceremony, held recently at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Belfast.

O’Kane’s Pharmacy based at Tobermore Road won the category ‘Innovation and Change in Pharmacy Practice’ for their new outlet opened in April 2012.

 Judges commented on the competitiveness of this category and the clear evidence of a strong desire within community pharmacy to grow their presence in healthcare provision.

They said in a joint statement: “O’Kane’s Pharmacy demonstrated success in extending their reach into their local communities through innovative projects. O’Kanes Pharmacy is a well deserving winner of this prestigious accolade!”

Commenting enthusiastically on their success, Sharon Diamond from O’Kanes said they had a clear vision as to how they wanted the design of the new pharmacy to transpire so as to create a modern healthcare facility for patients and also a comfortable environment throughout the store, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience with competitively priced goods.
