New road surfacewelcomed

Resurfacing work to Ventnor Park in the city has been warmly received.

Lagan Valley DUP Assembly Member Paul Givan and Lisburn North Councillor Scott Carson welcomed the recent resurfacing work that increases the standard of the road.

Speaking following the completion of the works Mr Givan commented: “I have been lobbying for improvement works to Ventnor Park for some time and I am pleased that as a result, Roads Service has undertaken the resurfacing of the road.

“This follows on from the footpath scheme completed a number of months ago and I welcome the completion of this scheme. This new surface will greatly benefit residents within Ventnor Park and other residents in the surrounding areas.

“It has been a considerable time since this road has been fully resurfaced and I commend Roads Service for their effort in ensuring this is completed and in a short period of time with little disruption.”

Mr Carson said: “I welcome this new surface within Ventnor Park and thank Roads Service for completing it in spite of budgetary constraints. The standard of the work has been excellent and I know it has received the approval of local residents.

“Along with the new footpaths, the overall standard for drivers and pedestrians is now greatly improved.”
