Motorway closure warning during re-surfacing work

MOTORISTS are being warned about resurfacing work which is scheduled to take place at Sprucefield roundabout and on the on-slip between the roundabout and the M1 next weekend.

Amey, on behalf of Roads Service, will complete the works during the weekend Friday May 25 to Sunday May 27.

Lane closures will be in place on the roundabout from 10pm on Friday night (May 25) to 7am on Saturday morning (May 26). The M1 on-slip from the roundabout will also be closed during this time with traffic being diverted via junction 8 Blaris.

From 11pm on Saturday night (May 26) through to 8am on Sunday morning there will be a total road closure. During this time Amey will also be replacing the road markings to minimise any future disruption on this route.

Lisburn bound, non-motorway traffic will be diverted along Harry’s Road, Culcavy Road, Haltown Road, Moira Road, Longstone Street, Governors Road and Hillsborough Road.

M1 traffic will be diverted eastbound leaving at Junction 6 Saintfield Road towards Lisburn City Centre, taking the Laganbank Road and Hillsborough Road.

All southbound traffic will be diverted along Blaris Road, Halftown Road, Culcavy Road, Lisburn Road to join the A1 dual carriageway.

Motorists will be able to access all areas of the Sprucefield retail park and diversion routes will be clearly signed.
