Men stabbed at Christmas Eve riot

A number of men were stabbed during an incident close to residential premises at the Iniscarn Close area in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Shortly after 1.50am, as a number of people were trying to enter a property in the area an altercation took place in the area.

Two men were taken to a nearby hospital with one man receiving an injury to his leg and stab wounds.

The other man is believed to have received stab wounds to his body.

Both men’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A female was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to facial and body injuries, that are not believed to be serious.

A 25-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievious bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon but later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone with any information about the incident to contact CID in Lisburn Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
