Master Beekeeper visits Dromore meeting

DROMORE: The Spring Equinox was the perfect time of year for a Master Beekeeper from Dublin to visit Dromore to talk about some practical aspects of beekeeping.

Keith Pierce, a member of County Dublin Beekeepers’ Association, took as his subject ‘Making up Nuclei for Sale’ which dealt with the year round management of bee colonies, especially the Spring management necessary to permit colonies to build up sufficiently to enable nucs’ to be made up without prejudicing the honey crop.

It was Keith’s apiary that Dublin BKA took Dromore BKA on its Summer outing last year and it was as a result of the impression that Keith and his apiary made on that visit that he was invited to Dromore for the meeting.
