Martin concerned over car attacks at Barley Hill

Councillor Stephen Martin has spoken of his concern over a recent spate of attacks in Lisburn.

On Sunday, January 5 three vehicles, parked in Barley Hill, had their wing mirrors damaged.

It follows an incident some weeks ago a spray paint incident to 15 cars and homes in the Beechdene Gardens and Pond Park Avenue.

Speaking of the latest attack, Mr Martin said, “Barley Hill is a quiet area with many elderly residents so another report of this type of anti-social behaviour is very concerning.

“Clearly those responsible simply do not care that they are damaging other people’s hard-earned property and causing unnecessary inconvenience to those affected.

“I know the local community have stepped up their efforts to help raise awareness around these issues and in conjunction with the PSNI hopefully we can identify those who are intent on causing senseless acts of stupidity. The message must get through that no good comes from this sort of behaviour.

“There is no such thing as a victimless crime.”

Police would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has any information to ring them at Lisburn on 0845 600 8000.
