Man duped out of money

An elderly man from Rosslyn Park is urging people to be aware of cold callers after he claimed that he was duped of an extra £50 by a caller who had agreed to clean the roof.

The 87 year old man and the roof cleaner had agreed the work would cost in the region of £220 but after the work was finished and the OAP went to pay the man he got angry and asked for an extra £50.

“We had agreed on £220 but when I paid the money the man got really angry and kept saying that that would not do at all,” he said.

“I was a little scared and handed over the money. I would just worry that these so called cold callers would target other people like me who are elderly.”
