Man claimed £6k of benefits he wasn’t entitled to

A Lisburn man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

John Crumley (30), of Peel Gardens, claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £6,525 while failing to declare employment. He was given 80 hours Community Service.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
