Man beaten up in sectarian hate crime

POLICE in Lisburn are treating as a sectarian hate crime an incident in which a man in his 40s was beaten up.

They are appealing for witnesses to the assault that occurred on Sunday, May 5.

At around 7.30pm it was reported that a man in his 40s had been chased by three males from Low Road to Queensway where he was assaulted by one of them. The three males then made off.

The attacker is described as in his late 30s approximately 5’10” tall, slim with short light brown hair. He was wearing a blue top and blue jeans.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who noticed three males in the area at the time. They can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
