Local pupils help launch Christian Aid Week

THE boys and girls of Largymore Primary School in Lisburn say it’s not fair that one in eight people will go to bed hungry tonight. Launching Christian Aid Week, 12th-18th May, the children were joined by their school principal Mrs Gillian Dunlop and long-serving local Christian Aid volunteer Mrs Hazel McCall.

Launching Christian Aid Week, 12th-18th May,  the children were joined by their school principal Mrs Gillian Dunlop and long-serving local Christian Aid volunteer Mrs Hazel McCall.   The theme this year is Bite Back at Hunger!, and thats what nearly 500 volunteers will be doing when they go knocking on doors all around Lisburn. Hazel McCall said of her committed colleagues, Some of us have been delivering and collecting Christian Aid Week envelopes for 30 or 40 years.  We could certainly do with some more volunteers.  If everybody did just a little bit in their area, it would make such a huge difference  and it would bite back at hunger!And Hazel added, The children certainly understood that its wrong that so many people around the world are still going hungry every day.
