Lisburn DJ Mark lands US film job

A LISBURN DJ has landed his first film project working as a co-producer of a sound track for an American spy film

Mark Cowan, 27, a well known face on the local DJ scene, could not believe it when Michael Kennedy of Kennedy World Wide Film Productions emailed him to discuss the possibility of him working on the soundtrack for a new movie which will be released next year.

Mark explained how it all came about: "I was approached by the ex-presidential family of John F Kennedy who own and run the film company after they came across one of my remixes I produced a while back of Adam Freeland - 'we want your soul'.

"Michael Kennedy sent me an email after hearing my soundtrack on You Tube. I thought he was having a laugh but after some research I realised it was genuine. After emailing backwards and forwards and letting hm hear some of my other work Michael asked me to co produce the title track and script music for scenes. It really is a dream come true."

Mark says he can't went to start working on the music for the film. "It's very exciting - I can't believe it as this is somehting I've always wanted to do and I definitely want my career to move in this direction."

As well as the film work Mark also has two albums due for release in the new year and international DJ management are interested in signing him to their brand 2011.

"I'm also planning a collaboration with a huge Australian pop vocalist in the new year the details of which I have to keep under wraps," added Mark.
