Ladies hear about Barbara’s work in Africa

Barbara gave a most informative and interesting talk on her life in Africa and her work with the hospitals out there, particularly her involvement with mothers and babies and the beliefs and customs which are so different to ours.

She explained she raises funds for the hospital she used to work in for medicines and supplies and she had brought along a beautiful array of jewellery, all made by herself, and 25% was donated to obtaining these supplies and supporting the hospital.

Competition for Souvenir of the Queen’s Reign was won by Norma who had made a lovely tray cloth for the Silver Jubilee, second was Sally and third Lynsay. Birthday Girl was Heather Cairns.

The ACWW Walk had been well attended in Maghaberry Demesne and everyone was thanked for the sponsorship raised.
