Killead road run to celebrate Jubilee

KILLEAD: The Presbyterian Church is hosting a charity road run on Monday June 4 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The event, departing at 7pm from the church, will be an opportunity for all vehicles, whether classic, vintage or brand new, tractor, car or motorcycle, to join in a run through the local countryside. All are welcome to attend this event.

The tractor route will include a section travelling through a conservation farm which boasts areas of forest, lakes and other natural and historical features. The motorcycle and car route will encompass a spectacular trail taking in views of Lough Neagh and the surrounding countryside. This route includes a section along the scenic Lough shore. This event is set to be a relaxing and enjoyable evening open to all, whether taking part or simply spectating, there will be something for everyone.

The event will be rounded off with a chance to catch up and meet others enjoying the evening with a hog roast in the hall, provided by McMaster Meats of Whitehead.

All proceeds of the event will be in aid of Fields of Life, Philippines Church Project and church funds. The evening is also being kindly sponsored by Antrim Borough Council, John McElderry and McKinstry Skip Hire. For further information please contact Lyle Mackey on 028 944 29228.
