Italian Motor event at Lagan Valley Centre

IF YOU have passion for anything Italian then the Lagan Valley Centre on Saturday, May 25, is the place to be. Ducatis. Moto Guzzis and Aprilias are just a few of the big Italian names that will be on show at this year’s All Ireland Italian Motor Club event at the grounds of Lagan Valley Centre.

This will be the club’s third annual event and the event will once again be supported by Lisburn City Council, Charles Hurst Specialist Car Division and Donnelly Group.

This year the club - who are celebrating their tenth anniversary - hope to build on the success of last year’s event and serve up another delicious offering of Italian metal coupled with tasty Italian food from Lighters restaurant in the Civic Centre.

Club Secretary Tim Logan said that the event encourages Italian vehicle enthusiasts to come forward: “We can promise a display of stunning Italian vehicles both of the four wheeled and two wheeled variety.

“We hope that cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat and Abarth will all be represented, some new, some older and possibly some very rare examples which people may not have seen before.

“Not forgetting the motorbikes we also hope to see a collection of two wheeled offerings from Italy – Ducatis, Moto Guzzis and Aprilias and possibly some Lambretta scooters.”

Some exhibitors and local companies will also be there to promote and sell a range of car related products such as the latest car waxes and polishes – so there should be something of interest for everyone.

Italian cars can cater for all tastes and for all extremes – from small to large vehicles, from super minis to supercars. Their price and capabilities are all different but they all possess the essential ingredient of style which other manufacturers often try to emulate but rarely better.

The local club hold their monthly meetings at the Premier Inn at Hillsborough Old Road each month. The NIIMC now have over 60 members who own every type of Italian vehicle you can think of.

Entry is free for everyone - and there is also no charge for those displaying their vehicles or to those who simply want to come along to look at the display. For more information about the club you can contact www.NIIMC.net
