Initiative to tackle homelessness

A new initiative has been launched in the Lisburn area to help homeless people or those at risk of fimnding themselves on the street.

Thankfully in the Lisburn area there are very few rough sleepers, but this does not mean that there aren’t people in the community affected by homelessness.

To try and strengthen the local community the Simon Community NI along with Housing Executive and PSNI have produced a wallet sized card with the most relevant information of who to contact if someone finds themselves homeless or in danger of becoming homeless.

This card has been funded by the Lisburn Poilce and Community Safety Partnership.

The cards are being launched at the Simon Community hostel on Monday, December 16, at 3:30pm and will be distributed by PSNI, NIHE and local community groups as well as being available in local amenities.
