Himself one of the newest members of the ‘Vitality Health and Fitness Gym’ at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex, Lisburn’s Mayor, Councillor Andrew Ewing, recently visited the new facilities as First Citizen.

He was impressed, he said, with the high standard of equipment and changing facilities.

“I am delighted,” he added, “to be joining the council’s Vitality gym and look forward to a new regime in the New Year. “When I attended the launch of the ‘Lisburn Physical Activity Loyalty Scheme’ in December I was inspired by the health benefits of exercise so my visit to Vitality was very timely.

“Through participating in regular exercise you improve your wellbeing, reduce your weight and your chances of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer.

“I know that I will require dedication and commitment to fulfil the personalised fitness programme that will be designed for me but I will endeavour to stick to the tailored plan.

“Since I enjoy swimming, I am also looking forward to having a few swims as part of my membership package.

“If you are also thinking of getting fit in the New Year and perhaps wishing to shed a few Christmas pounds then be sure to visit Vitality and see what it has to offer.

“The membership packages are very competitively priced so please check out this fantastic facility for yourself.”
