Hog roast night returns to the Secret Garden

FIRST Hillsborough Scout Group is looking forward to hosting another hog roast night.

The group would like to thank local charity Praxis for use of its outdoor venue adjacent to Hillsborough Castle and Garden Show Ireland for the use of their marquees, to stage the event on May 11 at 6.30pm.

The night has something for everyone with the obligatory Hog, children’s BBQ, music and fun for all, including falconry display, archery, treasure hunt and traditional fete games. Follow the group on facebook for further additions to the line up. This is another opportunity for Scouting families and the wider public to support the fund raising efforts of 1st Hillsborough Scout Group. With over 100 young people enjoying a wide range of Scouting activities in Hillsborough, efforts are ongoing to ensure that improvements can be made to bring the outdated Scout Hall facilities up to modern standards through replacement of the existing Scout Hall. A model of the proposed new Scout Hall will be on display on the night.

Entrance to The Secret Garden Courtyard, Coffee Shop and Gardens is at the end of the Moira Road cul-de-sac, off Dromore Road leading out of Hillsborough Village. Entrance to the event is by ticket, priced £10 for adults and £4 for children (to include food), available from the Hillsborough Scout hall, the Village Centre or by e-mailing [email protected].
