Porter & Co has enjoyed consistent success in the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards, winning 14 prizes in a seven year period.

Pride in the Job is the house-building industry’s most prestigious awards programme. Running for 35 years, the awards are dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building. This year the awards had more than 16,000 entries from throughout the UK and Isle of Man.

All site managers running a site with a home or homes that are registered for NHBC Buildmark cover, are automatically entered into the competition. There are categories for smaller, independent builders as well as the medium, large and specialist high-rise developers. It represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades as well providing a reputational boost for the building company. Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product.

Bill Porter, founder of Porter & Co has paid tribute to Alan for his success. “Both Alan and my brother Jim Porter have featured regularly in these awards for many years now,” he said. “Indeed Porter & Co has been winning NHBC award for 25 years. This is testament to our company’s commitment to uncompromising quality in our house building – something that has been a hallmark for more than a quarter of a century.

“We strive to ensure this approach, craftsmanship and attention to detail is obvious in every aspect of our developments from the exquisite railings to the manicured landscaping and that overall air of maturity and establishment. For Alan to have made it through once again to the national finals from a starting entry of more than 16,000 is terrific. Having come runner-up last year we’ll all hoping he can go one better this time around and bring back the prestigious title to Northern Ireland.”

Alan’s colleague, Jim Porter also enjoyed success in this year’s competition making it through to the regional finals for his work on Porter & Co’s scheme at Breton Hall, Lisburn.

Porter & Co is currently building a range of new homes at Breton Hall, Lisburn; Farriers Green, Hillsborough; Saddlers Hall, Hillsborough and Portmore Hall, Crumlin.
