Hillhall WI hosts demonstrations

In December the committee of Hillhall WI treated members to a lovely Christmas themed evening, with the hall beautifully decorated and mulled wine and nibbles laid on.

After the business which included holding the first round of the WI quiz with Lorna Sleator, Molly Taylor, Roberta Ferguson and Kathleen Galwey going foreword to represent the group at the Area second round, Gwen Conlin showed members how to make an easy but impressive Christmas table arrangement and Margaret McCracken decorated a cake with Santa and Rudolph asleep in bed.

After enjoying a seasonal supper the women concluded the evening with traditional carol singing.

Birthday flowers were presented to Liz Mc Quoid and the monthly ballot winner was Gwen Conlin. There was also a special ballot for a beautiful wall hanging made by Molly Taylor, and Bina Brown was the delighted winner.

The competition for a small Christmas table centre was won by Anna Scott, with Rosalind Boomer coming second and Kathleen Galwey third.

Jean Hughes donated costume jewellery which was sold to supplement funds.
