Harriet is just full of Christmas sparkle

Little Harriet may be small in stature but she is big in character and certainly has plenty of sparkle about her.

Harriet, who was a rescue dog, was chosen as a runner up in the recent Marks and Spencers competition to find a dog with more sparkle than their own ‘Sparkles’, who has been appearing in their Christmas advertisement.

The competition was run by the company on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, with thousands of dogs being entered from across the UK.

“Since the launch of the M&S Christmas TV advert, we saw a large volume of dog images shared to us via Facebook and Twitter, both of Westies such as the dog from our TV ad and of other breeds, and we wanted to celebrate our fans’ and followers’ great dogs with a fun and easy-to-enter competition,” explained a spokesperson for Marks and Spencers.

“We created a competition to win prizes when users shared photos of their dogs to our Facebook page or to Twitter or Instagram with #PetsWithSparkle.”

Delighted

Prizes were across three categories: a ‘Best in Show’ prize for best overall dog where the winner received a grooming day for their dog at a salon of their choice and £100 in M&S gift vouchers; five ‘Best in Show’ runner-up prizes of a doggy goodie bag worth and twenty ‘Best Westie’ prizes of a Westie cuddly toy.

Harriet was one of five runners up and won a hamper full of doggie goodies.

Her proud owners were delighted that people agreed their doggie was indeed full of Christmas sparkle.

Hannah-Jane Braiden McCrudden and Eunan McCrudden, who own Harriet, a little Westie, have never doubted that she is full of sparkle.

“Harriet came to live with us two years ago after her owner died,” explained Hannah-Jane.

“We are her fourth home and we absolutely love her. She is the kindest, sweetest girl. She is truly my best friend,” she added.

A spokesperson for Marks and Spencers said that Harriet had been very popular.

“She was a huge hit with our Facebook fans,” she said.

“We are so pleased and we feel Harriet is the sparkliest of all sparkly dogs,” added Hannah-Jane.
