The New International Version were handed to the church as were 25 other Bibles from Ravenhill Presbyterian Church, Belfast.

The presentation was made by Clerk of Session in Harmony Hill, Mr Derek Alexander, at a morning service.

He referred to the honour and privilege in being able to present the new Bibles, the Word of God, to ‘our brothers’ in Galway.

Derek explained how members of Harmony Hill had made donations and then purchased the Bibles.

It was with considerable pleasure and with God’s blessing that the Bibles were presented. The present Minister, Rev Helen Freeburn, previously Assistant in Harmony Hill from 2009 to 2013, had suggested earlier in 2014 that the congregation would welcome some new Bibles.

The Bibles replaced the other Bibles some of which were falling apart.

Helen expressed thanks to both Harmony Hill and Ravenhill congregations for their generosity in presenting the Bibles to Galway. Reading of the Scriptures was an important aspect of worship and there is no doubt that the Bibles would be well used during services there.
