Fundraising tribute to two doting dads

A special evening of music and dance will be held at Lagan Valley Island on Friday February 12 to raise money for charity.

The fundraiser is being organised by Kerry Irvine and money will be divided between two charities with a common goal.

Kerry set up the charity Action4Noel Pancreatic Cancer Action after she lost her husband Noel in 2011.

“It’s the memories of Noel’s strength, courage, love of life and love for his family and friends that gives me the courage to continue the fight against Pancreatic Cancer in his name,” explained Kerry.

Since the charity was set up, it has raised almost £20,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action, which focuses on early diagnosis.

Susan Cooke also set up a charity in memory of her husband, who passed away from pancreatic cancer.

“On November 26, 2012 our lives changed forever when Colin was told he had Pancreatic Cancer,” explained Susan.

“There was no treatment, no hope. Only eleven weeks later on February 10, 2013 Colin passed away at the age of 45 leaving behind two sons Adam (18) and Aaron (3).

“No change in forty years is not acceptable together hand in hand we will make a difference.”

The two ladies decided to come together to raise even more money for these two important charities.

The next fundraising effort will be held in the Island Hall in Lisburn on Friday February 12 when a host of special guests will perform.
