“The assessment enables employers to show they are interested in their employees welfare by encouraging them to take a free assessment and I would encourage employees and employers to contact us and book in for a free check.”

The free assessments look at cholesterol and body composition as well as a personal health check and lifestyle review carried out by the NICHS health promotion nurses. The individually tailored assessments are designed to improve health through changes in lifestyle habits.

Each assessment takes 30 minutes to complete and includes: Full lipid profile - raised levels of blood cholesterol ad triglycerides can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease; Blood glucose levels - high blood sugar levels can indicate the presence if diabetes.

Early diagnosis and proper treatment will minimise the long-term complications of this condition; Blood pressure measurement - untreated high blood pressure is a major risk factor for both Coronary Heart Disease and Stroke; Body composition - body fat percentage is measured using an instrument called a ‘Bodystat’ machine. The percentage fat content of the body against lean and water content is identified. Excess body fat is a risk factor for Coronary Heart Disease and other conditions.

To book you or your staff in for this free 30 minute assessment which will take place at Rawdon House, 45-47 Market Square contact LCCM on 028 9266 0625.
