Fraud conviction

A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ court on Friday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Linda Peden (48) of Flush Street, Lisburn was given a three month prison sentence suspended for eighteen months and ordered to pay court costs of £19 for wrongful encashment of Employment and Support Allowance totalling £105.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
