Fire breaks out at old thatched cottage

CRUMLIN: Fire crews used a foam jet and two hose reel jets to extinguish a blaze at a house in Crumlin on Tuesday night at around 8pm.

The initial appliances attending a report of a fire involving the thatched roof of an old bungalow on the Ballytromery Road requested an extra appliance to attend.

Crews used a foam jet and two hosereel jets to extinguish the blaze which appeared to have started after some controlled burning spread to the property.
