Fields transformed for Point-to-Point event

RANDOX are to sponsor the Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester Hunt Point-to-Point Steeplechases at Crumlin on April 15 and 16.

There will be a number of highly rated horses at this year’s event with at least six races each day with €5000 of prize money up for grabs. The open lightweight races are expected to be amongst the highlights.

Richard Pugh of p2p.ie, commented, “Point-to-Point racing has been the source of numerous notable successes. Nine of the last 13 Cheltenham Gold Cup winners have emerged from this amateur sport including Best Mate, Denman and Imperial Commander.”

This very popular event is not just for racing fans, all the family can enjoy the food stalls, fun face painting and much, much more.

Dr Peter FitzGerald, Managing Director of Randox and Chairman of the Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester Hunt, said the event will be transforming Crumlin fields into a racecourse for two days.

“It will bring the local community together to celebrate and enjoy the historic country sport of Point-to-Point racing” he said.

General admission to the event is £5 per person/free entry for children under 16. The first race on Friday, April 15 gets underway at 4pm. On April 16 the first race will take place at 2pm. Car parking is available. The course will be signposted from the Nutts Corner Roundabout.
