Lisburn city centre came alive with the sound of music last Friday night (May 13) when Pride of Knockmore hosted the first ever Festival of Marching Bands.
The Lisburn band welcomed some of the very best melody and blood and thunder bands from across Northern Ireland for this special family friendly contest.
The weather made it a perfect evening for the crowds to enjoy the spectacle.
Two independent judges inspected the bands as they paraded through the city centre and local band Skeogh Flute Band from Dromore were crowned best Melody band and East Belfast Protestant Boys picked up the cup for blood and thunder, as well as best overall marching band on the night.
Local band Lambeg Orange and Blue also performed to a high standard.
The Pride Of Knockmore would like to take this opportunity to thank all the bands that took part in the festival and the people of Lisburn and further afield who came on the night to support the event.
The band were able to raise £1250 and would like to thank everyone for giving so generously.
The band would also like to thank Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council and the PSNI for all their help.
